Reasoning

On we go with the Josh Padley story. The former electrician was pulled off-site to travel to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to challenge Shakur Stevenson for the WBC World Lightweight title. Rocky stories rarely come true, and of course, Padley was stopped in the ninth round by body shots but came away with the knowledge that he lasted nine rounds with a boxer who is being talked about as a pound-for-pound superstar.Β

Β

He has since won three bouts, including winning the European crown against Frenchman Jaouad Belmehdi last time out, and now makes his first defence against Oldham’s Aqib Fiaz on the Dalton Smith vs Alberto Puello undercard.

Β

I feel confident that Padley won’t let all the success he has enjoyed since being chosen to face Stevenson go to waste, and he will win on points.
