Michel Rivera knocks out Jon Fernandez in eighth round

Dominican Michel Rivera, scored a spectacular knockout in the 8th round of his WBA World Lightweight Title Eliminator against  Bilbao, Spain's Jon Fernandez at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California but had to get off the canvas himself in the 6th round to do so.

Fernandez came with good credentials, the only blot on his career ledger, a September 2018 ten round decision defeat to Houston contender O'Shaquie Foster.

Rivera should now be in a position to get the bigger fights he needs, having beaten some very good opponents up to this point.
