Erickson Lubin wins WBC Eliminator by knocking out Jeison Rosario in sixth round

Erickson Lubin earned himself a second crack at WBC super-welterweight champion Jermell Charlo when he stopped the former IBF, IBO, and WBA champion Jeison Rosario on Showtime's Pay-Per-View event headlined by Gervonta Davis vs Mario Barrios State Farm Arena, Atlanta.

Lubin, in fact, was already in line to face Charlo as the WBC's number one contender, so taking this fight against a good puncher like Rosario showed how confident the 25-year-old from Orlando, Florida was feeling.

Both Lubin and Rosario took turns to hurt one another but it was southpaw Lubin who dropped Rosario twice in the 6th to secure the win when referee Jerry Cantu waved it off before Rosario could rise from the second knockdown.

Now Lubin needs to exorcise the demons of his October 2017 WBC title clash with Charlo which ended with a one-punch finish in the first round for the champion.
