Hamzah Sheeraz vs Alem Begic

I never like to use the word “mismatch” but I can’t see any other way of making a prediction for this fight without using the word. Sheeraz has done nearly everything asked of him. He’s beaten quality opponents along the way, and the one time he didn’t perform to his full potential, we believe he may have been the victim of weight making when he challenged the Dominican Republic’s Carlos Adames for the WBC middleweight title in Riyadh back in February 2025. Sheeraz, of course, is coming off the best win of his career against the then-unbeaten Edgar Belanger, knocking out the brash New Yorker in the fifth round at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. Begic, on the other hand, has never faced an opponent that belongs in any world title list. He’s 39. He’s had long periods of inactivity, and quite frankly, I’ll be surprised if he’s there after two or three rounds against the sharp-shooting Sheeraz.
