Tommy McCarthy breezes past Alexandru Jur in Euro Title defence

Belfast's European Cruiserweight titleholder Tommy McCarthy looked good against Romania's Alexandru Jur in the first defence of his title but in all fairness, Jur didn't and there should be questions as to his credentials to challenge for a title that gets the holder a top-10 position in the world rankings.

McCarthy looks far more relaxed in the ring than he did previously and that has added a bit more fluidity to his work. He will have his hands full when he has to face the worlds to 20 Cruiserweights, but hopefully, he will keep improving now that he holds a major title.

Against Jur he pretty much had it his own way, scoring knockdowns in the 4th and 6th rounds due to body shots.
