Fight Report

Shannon Courtenay walked the walk against Australia's Ebanie Bridges to lift the vacant WBA World Female Bantamweight Title with a unanimous 10 round decision at the Copper Box Arena in London on the Conor Benn vs Samuel Vargas card.

Bridges won new fans with her no-nonsense approach and anyone that thought she was just a good looking girl were proved terribly wrong as she waged war on the 27-year-old Courtenay for the full 10 rounds.

Courtenay had the more disciplined boxing skills and that ultimately proved the difference, but Bridges made it close until the end and would be a welcome addition to the Matchroom roster.

Scores: Luigi Boscarelli 98-92 | Grzegorz Molenda 98-92 | Bob Williams 97-94.
