Sam Maxwell scores unanimous decision win over Ben Fields

Having to deal with the disappointment of missing out on his scheduled British Super-lightweight title challenge to Akeem Ennis Brown, Liverpool's Sam Maxwell may have been a little under-motivated when he faced Digbeth roughhouse Ben Fields but soon found out that his 31-year-old short notice opponent came to snatch himself an upset win.

Fields used every trick in the book to rough up Maxwell, but the Liverpudlian showed his class and athleticism to run away to a clear points win from referee Bob Williams: 79-73.

Fields had one point deducted for holding in the 7th round.
