Michael Coffie knocks out Darmani Rock in third round

Brooklyn’s 34-year-old Michael Coffie picked up the ninth knockout win of his 12 fight career when he ended the unbeaten record of Philadelphia’s Darmani Rock (17-1, 12 KOs) in the third round at the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles. Their scheduled 10 round heavyweight bout was on the undercard of the Caleb Plant-Caleb Truax IBF world super-middleweight title fight broadcast on FOX.

Referee Jack Reiss counted out Rock at 0:59 of the third round, moving Coffie, an 8-year US Marine veteran into position to test himself against some big names in the heavyweight division.
