Luis Arias beats Jarrett Hurd in split decision upset

Milwaukee middleweight Luis Arias turned his career around after losing two and drawing one of his last three fights when he scored the biggest win of his 11-year career by outpointing former 154lb champion Jarrett Hurd on the Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul undercard at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Arias worked for the first time with Cuban trainer, Ismael Salas for this fight, and the change seems to have boosted his fortunes after losses to Daniel Jacobs and Luke Keeler, plus a draw with Gabe Rosado in his last three fights.

Arias stated in the pre-fight build-up that he would drag Hurd into a close-quarters brawl and he did just that, fighting far more aggressively than we have seen before throughout their entertaining 10 rounder.
