Fight Report

Kid Galahad finally became a world champion by forcing tough James Dickens to be pulled out by his corner after 11 rounds, winning the vacant IBF World Featherweight Title in the process.

The 31-year-old Galahad, real name Abdul Barry Awad, started his boxing journey with the sadly missed Brendan Ingle in the world-famous Wincobank Gym that spawned Naseem Hamed, Johnny Nelson, and so many more, and with Brendan's sons Dominic in his corner it must have felt like kama after an up and down career journey.

'Jazza' as Dickens is known, still has time to come again and with his win over new WBA titleholder Leigh Wood in February last year, he could get another world title shot sooner rather than later.
