Jermall Charlo sees of a determined Juan Macias Montiel in points win

WBC world middleweight champion Jermall Charlo had to go the full 12 rounds to successfully defend his title against WBC number 4 ranked contender Juan Macias Montiel at the Toyota Center in Charlo's hometown, Houston, Texas.

The 27-year-old Montiel from Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico fought hard the entire 12 rounds and earned the respect of the champion after taking all that Charlo could hand out. The bookmakers had expected Montiel to fail to hear the final bell but, he did himself proud and hopefully gets some big opportunities in the future.

Charlo won big on the judge's scorecards, landing many more punches than his challenger.
