James Martin beats Vito Mielnicki Jr by majority decision

James Martin won by majority decision in his 8 round welterweight match with Vito Mielnicki Jr the 18-year-old prospect from Roseland, New Jersey on the undercard of the Tony Harrison vs Bryant Perrella super-welterweight headliner at the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles, California.

This is a big win for Martin, a 23-year-old from Philadelphia who was coming back from a shutout points defeat to another teenage unbeaten prospect in Xander Zayas in February at the MGM Grand Bubble.

Mielnicki Jr was taught some valuable lessons against Martin that will serve him well further down the road and needs to treat this defeat as part of a steep learning curve that is his boxing apprenticeship.
