Fight Report

Ireland's Gary Cully picked up the vacant WBO European Lightweight Title with an eye-catching 2nd round knockout of Kazakhstan's Viktor Kotochigov on MTK's show from the Bolton Whites Hotel, shown on Facebook and ESPN+ in the USA.

The 25-year-old Cully, a southpaw who stands 6ft 2 inches tall used his height and reach to good use, giving Kotochigov very few chances to make an impression on the fight. In the 2nd round, Cully teed-off on the visitor until a crushing straight left dropped Kotochigov on his back. Referee Bob Williams dispensed with the count at seven, giving Cully the twelfth straight win of his career so far.

The time of the stoppage was 2:14 of the 2nd round.
