Gary Antuanne Russell wins after six rounds against Jovanie Santiago

Capitol Heights, Maryland prospect Gary Antuanne Russell won as he pleased against Puerto Rican Jovanie Santiago on Showtime's tripleheader at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

The 24-year-old brother of WBC world featherweight champion Gary Russell Jr, scored the fight's only knockdown in the 4th round and battered Santiago for the rest of the time.

The Puerto Rican's corner asked for the fight to be stopped at the end of the 6th round. Under California rules, the fight ended as a knockout victory for Russell.
