Conor Benn takes out Samuel Vargas in 80 seconds

Conor Benn looked a little bit like his famous father used to when he dismantled the tough and experienced Samuel Vargas in only 1:20 of the 1st round of their scheduled 12 rounder with Benn's WBA Continental Welterweight Title at stake at the Copper Box Arena in London.

This is the first time anyone dismantled the Colombian in such a quick time, even Errol Spence Jr took 4 rounds back in 2015, Danny Garcia, 7 rounds a year later, and Vergil Ortiz 7 rounds in Vargas's only outing of 2020.

The win puts Benn firmly on the world stage, and at 24-years-of-age, the Ilford man looks a welcome addition to an already packed welterweight division.
