Brandon Adams scores upset eighth round win over Serhii Bohachuk

Brandon Adams looked like he was on his way to the fourth defeat of his professional career when he found the punches to halt knockout artist Serhii Bohachuk in the 8th round.

Adams had a point deducted for a low blow in the 3rd round. Bohachuk never seriously hurt Adams who had his own successes, but by the 6th round Bohachuk started to open a lead while Adams started to slow down and by the 8th round it looked as if the unbeaten Ukrainian would take his record to 17 wins and no losses even if his 16 fight knockout streak may have ended but, Adams dramatically found a left hook that detached Bohachuk from his senses, forcing referee Ramon Pena to stop the contest at 2:47 of the round.

The win puts 31-year-old Adams right back in the mix for a second world title attempt. He lost in a WBC Middleweight title bid to Jermall Charlo in June 2019 on a unanimous decision.
