Angelo Leo squeezes past Aaron Alameda with tight decision win

Former WBO super-bantamweight champion Angelo Leo won by a majority decision over Mexican Aaron Alameda at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas in a close fight that saw a bizarre 98-92 scorecard from judge Eva Zaragoza.

In an entertaining and very closely contested 10 rounder, both parties had reasonable grounds to believe they had done enough to take victory at the final bell. It was not a defeat that will hurt Alameda's reputation, nor his ability to get another big fight. Of course, a rematch would be well received by the fans and Showtime who televised the event.
