Angel Fierro survived two knockdowns in the first two rounds to battle his way back into the fight and ultimately outlast former WBA World Super-featherweight champion Alberto Machado. The end came in the sixth round when the 22-year-old from Tijuana, Mexico floored Machado with a left hook. Machado tried to get up but referee Jose Hiram Rivera called it off at 0:47 of the round.
