Louis Pergaud, born on August 14, 1950, in Yaoundé, Cameroon, was a towering southpaw heavyweight who left an indelible mark on the boxing world during his decade-long professional career. Standing at an imposing 6 feet 3 inches, Pergaud's journey in the squared circle began on January 31, 1977, when he made his professional debut in Düsseldorf, Germany. This city would become his boxing home for much of his career.
