On Friday 14th March 1980, the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow, Scotland, hosted the  WBC World Lightweight Title fight between Jim Watt and Charlie Nash. The fight was promoted by Mike Barrett and Mickey Duff and aired on the BBC. This was Watt's second defense of his title, having won it in June 1979 against Alfredo Pitalua.
