Reasoning

On paper, there’s absolutely nothing to choose between these two, other than the Englishman’s superior experience of having won and defended a world title way back in 2018 and 2019, respectively. Of course, having the names Christopher Rosales, Julio Cesar Martinez, Thomas Essomba, and Andrew Cain on your record adds weight to the argument.

Nqothole cannot compete in name-dropping. The most well-known on his record is Rene Calixto, who was 22-0 when the South African travelled to Mexico to face him, losing by unanimous decision in a close fight. A pair of losses to fellow countryman Sabelo Ngebinyana make up the three losses on his record.

Edwards is not known as a puncher, and his South African opponent has nearly double the knockout percentage, so the Englishman will have to be aware of the South African’s heavy hands. That said, with home advantage and such high stakes, I can only see Edwards coming through for a decision win.
